This is a delicious German Cheesecake recipe.
One of the most common challenges you'll run into when making a German cheesecake in the US is 'Quark'.
While 'quark' is a staple in even the smallest German supermarket, it's almost impossible to find in the US. And if you find it, it's way overpriced. While you can make your own, it's quite time-intensive and not practical and results in a higher than desirable fat content quark variety (which is delicious but not ideal for baking).
After living in the US for 20+ years, I have found an easy substitute that works out and creates a delicious German cheesecake that's very similar to the taste and texture of those you'll find in Germany.
