The Prolyte Group Performer Fly system supplied to Shiki Theatre Company in Japan has successfully made its first flight in the rehearsal studio.
In total 4 Performer Fly Systems are going to be used for the Japanese version of Disney's musical The Little Mermaid. Each system can move the performer 19 meter in the horizontal dimension and 12 meter vertical with a speed of 2 meter per second. The performer can be rotated over 360 degrees by a remote control.
The coming weeks will be used for rehearsals of the show. End of February the set will move to the Oimachi theater in Tokyo where "The Little Mermaid" will have its opening night on the 7th of April.
The person (voluntarily) flying in the video is Mutsuo Osawa, Managing Director Prolyte Doughty Japan, who have supplied the system to Shiki Theatre Company.
