Marc Marquez is not too concerned about his failure to stand on the first podium of the Czech Republic MotoGP race on Sunday (05/08/2018). He is ready to make up for the failure in the nine remaining MotoGP races this season.
Marquez, Repsol Honda's mainstay racer, claims he has several MotoGP tracks which he judged to be quite competitive for RC213V motors. So Andrea Dovizioso's victory at the Brno Circuit didn't really affect him.
"We will arrive at several circuits where we will become stronger. But we need to understand that some manufacturers and some drivers are faster than us," Marquez said as quoted by Autosport, Monday (08/06/2018).
The Spaniard added, "We need to understand and try to be smart."
Marquez also said the defeat to fight against the Ducati duo (Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo) in Brno was not a problem. Most importantly, Valentino Rossi was scattered outside the Czech MotoGP podium. "The good thing is that Valentino is behind, so my main target is to try to improve excellence in the championship," he said.
Currently in the standings, Marquez is still increasing his points advantage from Rossi to 49 points. Whereas with Dovizioso, he was still 68 points ahead.
"We succeeded, we know Andrea and Jorge got a few points, but they are still behind me. So, we are on our way," said Marquez.
Marquez also said, until now, he was still in a safe position.
"We lead the championship 49 points, 68 with Dovi, and the target is this. If I feel strong and there will be a circuit that I will be very strong,"
