If your child is getting ready for kindy, our expert therapists can work with them to ensure they have the key foundation skills and techniques all kids need to start school with confidence.
Is your child starting school next year?
Research shows that children who start school when they’re ready to learn often do better in the classroom.
Our Transition to School programs helps children with a disability or developmental delay learn and develop important skills such as getting along with other children, following instructions, and communicating their needs so they can thrive at school.
These programs are delivered by accredited Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists, with support from Allied Health Assistants.
What does this program cover?
The program aims to develop key school readiness skills and will be tailored for each child based on their needs. Activities will include:
Pre-literacy skills
Fine motor skills (pencil and pre-writing skills)
Self-care skills (toileting and hand washing)
Management of personal belongings (including lunch boxes)
Social skills (being a good friend, sharing and taking turns)
Attention and listening (following a routine and instructions)
