Montage of our 6100 race weekend at the Best In The Desert BlueWater Desert Challenge in Parker, Arizona on October 22nd - October 25th. Driver Dustin Grabowski and navigator Cody Woodruff had a great performance. They qualified 3rd in class out of 28 trucks. Started side by side off the line on Day 1 of racing with Ray Griffith. Unfortunately they were beat off the line. With the wind being almost non-existent they were stuck 8 seconds or so behind him all day and finished the day off in 3rd place. Day 2 they started off the line with Brad Lovell who was in 4th place. Lovell beat them off the line (not sure why they keep getting beat off the line???), but the wind was kind today so they were able to stay on Lovell's rear bumper. Finally made the pass on Shea Road. They worked back to 8 seconds behind Griffith in less than 10 miles. Then it was follow the leader for 3 laps. Jergensen, Griffith, Grabowski. Around race mile 10 of the last lap Dustin had an opportunity to pass Griffith when a slower 6100 was blocking him. Dustin missed the opportunity and thought he lost his only chance for the day, until a few turns later. We knew Ray's line through the next section; stay on the flat side of the down hill and stay inside on the left hand turn at the bottom to avoid the whoops. Dustin and Cody decided to push hard through the rough stuff down the hill and stay outside of the turn in the big whoops. Their plan had worked flawlessly and they got by Griffith. After passing Griffith they were immediately on Jergensen and chasing him down. If they had one more lap they may of had a chance of passing him. However, without the extra lap, they crossed the finish line 2nd physically and 1st on time for Day 2. Securing 2nd place in Class 6100 for the weekend. Overall, great race and the team looks forward to their next race, The 2020 BITD Parker 425.
