The Building Regulations stipulate certain requirements when it comes to air tightness and heat loss that need to be achieved for your home to be compliant. The U-Value of the building element is the rate at which heat (in watts) is lost through each square meter (m²) of the surface of a building element, when there is a temperature difference of 1 Kelvin [K] (=1ºC) between the internal and external. A lower figure means better thermal performance.
• An uninsulated flat roof will have a U-Value of around 3.76 W/m²K (ventilated).
• Current Refurbishment Building Regulations require a maximum U-Value of 0.18W/m²K.
• Our 3-layer solution exceeds the target U-Value of 0.18W/m²K, without the need for additional insulation.
