Maharashtra recorded a voter turnout of 45.53 per cent till 3 pm on Wednesday as polling was underway in the 288 assembly constituencies. Till 3 pm, the voter turnout in Mumbai City was 39.34 per cent and Mumbai suburbs 40.89 per cent. The state’s voter turnout in 2019 was 61.74 per cent, while Mumbai’s figure stood at 50.67 per cent.

While political campaigning stopped 48 hours prior to voting, it couldn’t silence political storms involving Nationalist Congress Party (SP)’s Supriya Sule, Congress’s Nana Patole and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Vinod Tawde from brewing.

As voting concludes in Maharashtra and Jharkhand for the Assembly Elections on Wednesday evening, the focus will shift to the prediction of results in Exit Polls.

The second and final phase of voting is underway in Jharkhand while Maharashtra is voting in a single phase today. The voting began at 7 am and will go on till 6 pm.
As per the stringent directions of the Election Commission of India, the broadcasters and digital media outlets cannot publish the Exit Poll data before the conclusion of voting and can only put the figures on air after 6.30 pm. The ECI ensures its implementation to ensure a fair and unbiased voting process.

The Exit Polls will be streamed live on the website, YouTube channel and social media handles of Network18 Group. The predictions of both Jharkhand and Maharashtra will also be aired on all channels of Network18.
