This video will shows you the steps of knitting the purl row equivalent of the Make One (M1) increase technique.
Increases are vital to know in knitting if you want to make any shape that is not just a rectangle, and the M1P allows you to adds 1 stitch to your needles part-way through your work.
The 'make one' is often referred to as an invisible increase because it doesn't make an obvious bump or other marker in your knitting where you do the increase.
"Right-leaning" or "left-leaning" just refers to the appearance of the increase on the front of your work; it will appear to lean slightly to the right or to the left. The M1P can be right or left leaning, and I will show you both methods in this video.
If the pattern only told me to do a M1P without telling me which way it should lean, I would probably do the right-leaning variation simply because it's easier!
Thanks for watching :)
