At least one thousand people, including schoolchildren and hospital patients are being evacuated from the centre of a Norwegian town, because of fears that a burning freight train might explode.
The two freight trains collided and burst into flames at a train station 10 miles north of Oslo .
No one was injured in the crash.
The two freight trains slammed into one another at one o' clock local time on Wednesday morning at Lillestroem train station.
According to officials one of the burning trains was carrying one hundred and four tons of explosive propane gas.
There are now fears of a dangerous explosion.
Police have cordoned off an area stretching 800 metres from the station.
They have also broadcast orders to evacuate the downtown area.
Police Chief Joergen Hoeydal has estimated that between one thousand and two thousand people are to be evacuated.
