Knife carriers will be the subject of targeted operations next week, as officers from Leicestershire Police launch a week of action around knife crime.
The force will be running a series of both operational and educational activities with the aim of increasing awareness of the dangers of knife crime among young people, and disrupting offenders who carry knives and other bladed weapons.
The activity is part of the ongoing #LivesNotKnives campaign which aims to reduce the number of knife-related offences in the city, to educate and inform young people of the dangers of carrying knives, and to bring offenders to justice.
