The Soviet horse Grifel has even this year been the favourite of the most difficult obstacle race in Europe - The Great Pardubice steeple chase, in which race he won already twice. But for some ended the race here To the last third of the race Grifel was leading in front of the Roumanian horse Petricia and the Czech horse Koran. But then came a surprise. Grifel lost the rider and Koran fell back. A not favoured horse Gaboj from the Soviet Union was competing now with Patric and unexpectedly won the 73rd Great Pardubice Steeple Chase
