Perimeter Drill

This is good for assisting with your clearing game. May be a difficult drill with only 18-22 players. Good for forcing players to make long or longer passes.

Set Up:
Line up players
Where ever a cross field line meets a sideline
Balls with every line

Drill:
Player moves towards ball
You can have as many balls in drill as your team can handle
Ball moves clockwise
Catch right, turn to outside, throw left
Catch right, turn inside, throw right
Ball move counter clockwise
Catch left, turn to outside, throw right
Catch left, turn to inside, throw left

Issues:
Do you have enough players.
Guys starting somewhere else than where assigned
Players getting on top of each other

Options:
Go down one side of the field
Goalie throws outlet
Ball goes down sideline, defense in corner, throw cross field.
Leave it at that
