Julia Balandina-Jaquier, author of the Guide to Impact Investing for Family Offices and High Net Worth Individuals, shares with Philanthropy in action practical guidelines, concrete tools, and an array of personal stories related to impact investing.
Julia Balandina Jaquier holds an MBA (with honors) and PhD in finance from St. Petersburg University of Economics & Finance, and is a CFA charterholder. She describes her career as a a seasoned investment executive focused on sustainable private equity and finance and how she pioneered and led a USD150 m impact investment fund in environmental technologies, renewable and conventional energy, healthy living and infrastructure in emerging and developed markets.
Noah Beckwith talks about being an independent adviser to emerging markets private equity fund managers on fund structuring and establishment, environmental and social management and fundraising. He describes how at Aureos Advisers Ltd, he was responsible for environmental and social management, fundraising and new fund establishment and at the Economist Group as a Senior Economist for the Africa and Pacific regions of the Economist Intelligence Unit and as a regular contributor to the Economist newspaper on African and Asian affairs. Noah graduated from Oxford University with an MA in Spanish and English, and from the London School of Economics with a Diploma in International Relations and an MSc in Development Economics. He is bilingual in English and Spanish, and speaks fluent French, Portuguese and Italian.
