International Development Finance Institutions are the largest financiers of infrastructure projects in Africa. That's according to the latest edition of Deloitte's Africa Construction Trends Report. There are concerns over how sustainable DFI funding is, given this broad shift away from government-led spending, especially since maintenance of these projects would eventually have to be covered by government budgets, which must also bear the repayment costs of such funding over the long run.
