We are pretty much exactly a month away from Destiny 2’s 30th Anniversary Event, which will arrive midway through this extremely long season as a bit of a refresher. But likely nothing that has anything at all to do with the current Season of the Lost storyline, which is sold separately and being put on pause. I have tried to find a comprehensive list of everything in both the paid and free elements of the 30th Anniversary bundle, which is $25 by itself or part of the $100 “everything in year 5” Witch Queen/season pack. I think people have seen a lot of promotional stuff for it, but knowing exactly what you’re getting and when remains somewhat confusing. For starters, we’ve heard that nothing about this event will be timegated. It’s not doling itself out in little weekly reset chunks, live service style, so all of this will be available day one. Most listings only show the paid stuff, and there does seem to be something of a mystery around the free elements right now. Free Elements: The most coherent listing I’ve found is this page, which talks about the “free” celebration aspects which includes:The Paid Pack: This is where the list starts to get long, as there are a large number of things jammed into this $25 pack to try to justify that price. We have:So, even after all this I am still a touch confused about some of the missing free celebration elements, namely what rewards we will be getting running that six-man activity. Other than that, we’ve seen almost all the paid elements previewed except for the helmet ornament, and some of the minor stuff like one sparrow, ship, and the shaders, emblems and emotes. I mean, for me the paid pack is worth $25, though I suppose I get why people are annoyed with it. I think it would be helpful to know a bit more about the free elements of this, but that hasn’t happened yet, and we’ll have to wait for an upcoming TWAB or preview post for that.
