While getting attacked by these monkeys was terrifyingly funny, afterwards we learned why they were there.
Apparently these were pet monkeys from the US, that were stranded on this tiny island for tourists to come look at. They have no way to leave the island, and we were told some tried to escape via power line and drowned.
These monkeys are only getting food from tourists, and you can imagine why they are so aggressive. Honestly if my life was like that I'd attack people too. Maybe they were just looking for a way off the island.
