Mohini Karkarey is a gemologist and 10th generation descendant of the Peshwa. She has documented the treasure looted by the British after the Peshwa rule came to an end in 1818. Karkarey hopes that the treasure will come back to India one day if collective efforts are made. She says the government should also pay attention to the preservation of the immovable properties that are in bad shape today.
