The mayor of the southern Lebanese city of Nabatiyeh was among five people killed in an Israeli air strike on Wednesday, according to local officials.
“The mayor of Nabatiyeh, among others... was martyred. It’s a massacre,” Nabatiyeh governor Howaida Turk said, adding that he had been in the municipality building.
Ms Turk reported other casualties but did not give a precise figure. She said Israel carried out a total of 11 strikes on the city.
