Excerpt from a masterclass with Carter Arrington where he demonstrates how to modulate between two modes to create interesting melodic lines. In this case he's using both the E Lydian and E Phrygian modes. Note he's playing only on the E string in order to learn the sounds and various places he can modulate from one mode to the other.
