this was my first time ever going to India. I arrived very late at the airport and then had to walk because they had no money transfers and no SIM cards available. I finally made it into town at 2:00 a.m. after a crazy walk dark streets. I luckily found a hostile for $12 that wasn't going to let me stay there at first because they didn't take credit cards also but agreed to let me stay there as long as I came back the next day and paid once I was able to convert my money.
and I spent the entire morning and afternoon walking around looking for a bank and going to all of the money exchange places and they were all closed because it was Sunday. ended up changing money from a local that owned a fabric shop and then it was on to my first bus experience trying to take the one and a half hour into the tourist location
