Sky News host Paul Murray says while thousands of people suffer without a job and close to 800,000 businesses rely on government support, the unions are "bitching and moaning" because there will be no NSW public service pay rise for 12 months.
The NSW Premier announced all public service employees - which includes all emergency services - will not receive a 2.5 per cent pay rise for 12 months.
Mr Murray said there's no suggestion anyone will be receiving a "five, ten, twenty per cent hair cut they're just not going to get any pay rises".
"Who wouldn't take that deal in a world where people are losing their jobs completely," he said.
"But the unions said this was effectively a wage cut".
"Is this really anything but a game."
