More than 50% of Silver Clouds had been sold on the domestic market where, by the standards of much of Europe and most of North America, roads were narrow and crowded. The new Shadow was 3 1?2 inches narrower and 7 inches shorter than the Silver Cloud, but nevertheless managed to offer increased passenger and luggage space thanks to more efficient packaging made possible by unitary construction. Other new features included disc brakes and independent rear suspension instead of the outdated live axle design of previous Rolls models. The 6.75 litre V8 engine makes 189 horsepower and is mated to a GM Th400 automatic transmission from the factory. This beautiful Rolls was purchased new from a dealer in Chicago and brought to Marietta Georgia and has always been a southern car. Restored and repainted in 2010 including a repaint and a new vinyl roof this 1976 Silver Shadow is ready to hit the road. A pre-purchase inspection was done when the current second owner bought the car and nearly $17,000 worth of work was performed to get it to the condition it is in today. Painted in a Blue with the Everflex roof and a Blue interior this Rolls Royce has the classic 70s luxury style. As with any Rolls Royce, this Silver Shadow is fully optioned with many recent updates.
