It's been a disappointing end to the UN climate conference in Madrid with little progress on emissions targets. Negotiators stalled on "carbon markets," which economists consider a key issue in solving the global climate crisis. However, delegates from almost 200 nations did agree to come up with greater ambitious targets to cut greenhouse gas emissions and provide more support for poor countries suffering the effects of climate change.
The president of the meeting, Chilean Environment Minister Carolina Schmidt, expressed disappointment at the closing plenary. But delegates are still hopeful about next year's meeting in Glasgow.
