Shot of Scotch Vancouver dancers Meghan Pike and Sarah Grant performed this extra challenging Lochaber Sword dance at the Vancouver Fiddle Orchestra Ceilidh on Nov 7, 2015 at Highlands United Church. Not only did the two dancers have to share one set of swords, but they had to jump over the raised up swords, balanced precariously on top of two actual shots of scotch! Did they make it to the end without spilling? Watch to find out!!
Special thanks to Carolyn Currie for the video!
Shot of Scotch Vancouver is a premier level performance troupe of Scottish Highland dancers based in Vancouver, BC Canada. Under the Artistic Direction of Susan Nase, Shot of Scotch Vancouver strives to create new, exciting, contemporary dance pieces while maintaining a high standard of technique, as well as remaining true to the deep Scottish roots of the centuries old art form of Highland dance.
Whenever possible, Shot of Scotch Vancouver is thrilled to collaborate with musicians and artists of other disciplines. Our members all have solid backgrounds in competitive highland dance, but also have a wide range of skills including Scottish country dance, singing, guitar, fiddle, tap dance, acting etc. that allow us to explore far beyond the expected bounds of a Scottish highland dance troupe!
