There could be another shock in store for the Congress. The BJP is looking to strengthen its foothold in Old Mysuru. Sources say the party is trying to woo Vokkaliga leaders from the region into their party fold. The party is said to have approached several leaders including Cheluvarayaswamy. Though Cheluvarayaswamy lost the assembly elections, the BJP wants to cash in on his organisational skills and influence over local leaders in the region.
The move comes after former minister Vijayashankar also joined the BJP recently.
