Another translation of a non-German Lied.
The painting in the background is called "Battle on the Ice" by Viktor Viktorovich Matorin (1998, you can find it here: [ Ссылка ]) while the Lied is a german translation made by me from the notorious Polish song "Nasze dziady swoje ziemie".


Original lyrics:
Nasze dziady swoje ziemie | o pierś morza opierali,
nasze ojce swoje plemię | wrogom pod miecz oddawali.

Nasze dziady swoje miecze | obmywali w oceanach,
a my ojców swoich winy | obmywamy w swoich ranach.


German lyrics:
Unsre Ahnen hab'n das Land | bis zum Ozean erweitert.
Unsre Väter hab'n das Land, o weh, | vor dem grimmen Feind gelassen.

Unsre Ahnen hab'n die Schwerter | in den Ozean geläutert.
Unsrer Väter schwere Schuld, o weh, | müssen wir mit Blut bezahlen.
