One of the key skills of an emcee (in the Philippines) is being able to speak spontaneously without having to refer to a script. In other words, one should be able to confidently express his/her thoughts may it be in Tagalog, Taglish or English. It’s a big NO to have dead air, too many fillers (like uhmmms…) or sound too scripted. Remember, you are a person speaking in front of a crowd not a robot or a theater artist.
