In this second part, we’ll learn about “Style, Research, and Development”. This is where the real exploration of style begins: research requires the selection of inspirational pictures on-line or from the fashion archives in order to develop mood boards that define a collection’s look and feel. This phase is key to the production of a denim collection, and it’s followed by a briefing session from which designers will develop sketches. Once the fabric is chosen, it’s time to study the details and create paper patterns. Then on to prototype assembly, and fitting tests will be held.
