There are literally millions of different insects in the world, and while most are not really that dangerous to us, some can kill in less than no time. So, in no particular order, here are the top 10 most dangerous insects in the world.
10. Bullet Ant
Bullet ant is the largest of all ants in the world mostly found in the rainforests of Nicaragua and Paraguay and are named after their painful sting. These ants are 1 to 2 inches in length and their name is an indication of what a bite may feel like being shot. At a minimum, the pain is extreme, sometimes leading to paralysis. Each bullet ant colonies contain hundreds of members. They usually make a nest at the base of large trees. Bullet ants also release unpleasant odor once they find any predator. If that trick didn’t drive the predators away, they would attack together with the powerful sting. Justin O. Schmidt, an entomologist who famously created the Schmidt Pain Index for insect stings, described the bullet ant bite like, “walking over flaming charcoal with a three-inch rusty nail in your heel.”
9. Bot Fly
The human bot flies mostly found across Central and South America is not an insect you want around you as they don’t bite and live, they rather turn your skin into their home for a while. The larvae of botflies are internal parasites of mammals which unfortunately live beneath human’s skin and cause horrible effects. ‘Myiasis’ known parasite infestation makes severe changes in skin tissues. The young female bot fly lays eggs within the skin of mammals. The larvae penetrate through skin and lives in subdermal zones of human skin for more than 60 days. The patients could feel the movement of larvae beneath their skin. Once larvae development gets complete, it leaves out of the body. Could there be anything more disgusting than flies developing under your skin and then eating their way out?

Young fleas can consume the volume of blood that is over 15 times their body weight. The flea bites on human body result in red bumps and they commonly bite around waist, knees, and elbows. The bite of fleas is very itchy, and it may also lead to infection. A flea’s life is spent searching for a place to call home, where they can enjoy a meal of sweet warm blood. Over the centuries this little pest has caused devastation over the centuries. The Black Plague and Typhus are a couple of flea-borne diseases that have been devastating to communities.
7. Fire Ants

If you’re not careful, your feet can be covered in record time and the biting begins before you ever have a chance to get away. Fire ants are very protective of their colonies and so intruders are given no mercy. Once disturbed, they would sting the intruder repeatedly which is very painful and last for weeks. Their venom also would cause several skin problems. Fire ants usually attack in the group that contains ten to hundreds of ants. The venom of fire ants also results in allergic reaction.
