(18 Jun 2020) Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi praised the Supreme Court decison rejecting President Donald Trump’s effort to end legal protections for 650,000 young immigrants.
Pelosi at a press conference on Capitol Hill Thursday also said she has no regrets about how House Democrats handled the impeachment process.
In a new book, former Trump adviser John Bolton that accuses the president of being driven by political calculations when making national security decisions.
Bolton was called to testify before House lawmakers conducting the impeachment inquiry, but he declined, suggesting he wanted a federal court to decide whether he should heed a White House directive not to cooperate with the inquiry.
Pelosi said Bolton's decision to save his information for his book was really a "sad thing because he knew that the president should be removed from office."
Pelosi also said Thursday she is ordering the removal from the Capitol of portraits honoring four previous House speakers who served in the Confederacy.
