Its almost 12 months after Mr Hunt's first local TV statement and today the national newspapers and the nations websites are reporting that Media regulator OFCOM has named 20 proposed towns and cities who will be the new pilot locations for the government's Local TV plans. But as the big city names were announced there seemed to be one small town, who was standing toe to toe with the heavyweights.
Channel Seven staff waged a year-long campaign to ensure that Grimsby was in with a chance of making the top 20. Now the longest running local TV channel in the UK is hoping they can entertain the next generation of television viewer via Channel 8 on Freeview.
