In the last few years, Europe has witnessed a significant increase in the number of cyberattacks and incidents, from ransomware and phishing to malware. That’s why the EU has approved the NIS2 directive to enhance cybersecurity across Europe.
The NIS-2 regulations pose new challenges for Chinese companies in Europe and European companies doing business with China in terms of data protection and cybersecurity. Chinese laws such as the CSL and PIPL also compel these companies to adjust processes and implement security measures.
The Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) organized its webinar “The NIS-2 Directive: How to make your business cyber secure?” on October 29, 2024 to inform participants about the steps to take to legally protect personal data, and which obligations apply in the event of cybersecurity incidents.
