Hi! We're Holly & Conrad
We are currently on a bicycle tour around the world. Our trip started in April 2017 and we have been cycling east ever since. We crossed the to the Pamir Highway in August and are currently in SE Asia. After completing this section of the trip we fly to Australia & NZ and finally the Americas. In these videos, we hope to show you what our life is like on the road.
In this episode we travel through Uzbekistan, joined by Bas from Holland and Dave from the UK.
From start to finish it the heat was intense, sometimes a little oppressive but that's the desert for you. Despite the heat Uzbekistan was the most magical place we have visited on this trip so far. Wandering around Khiva catapulted us back to the times of the silk road and with so few tourists we could really enjoy this fascinating place.
Samarkand was much busier but still as charming and exotic. The final stretch from Samarkand to the Tajik border was unlike any cycling we had done so far. Our team was boosted to 6 with the arrival of Swedes Victor & Aminda. Going south included crossing some small peaks, cruising through downhills and drinking lots of cold cokes.
