December 23rd, 2021 brings up the last day of railfanning. And what a better way to spend it than at the Essex Steam Train for the last day of the North Pole Express season. Here we see engines 97, a 2-8-0 consolidation built by ALCO in 1927, 40, a 2-8-2 mikado built by ALCO in 1920, and 3025, a 2-8-2 mikado built by the Tangshan locomotive works in 1989. The three iron horses are seen here working the trains as they cary the happy passengers along the scenic line in the afternoon light and pitch black of night. So enjoy this video as the train departs 2021, bound for 2022. See you all next year!
