Many people ask me how to approach flyering - particularly start-up cleaning company owners.
There is definitely a right and wrong to do it.
Here are some tips:-
1) Drop flyers in the same location multiple times.
Many people think that doing 1 flyer drop is sufficient (it isn't). We typically do 3 drops - once every 2-months.
You should see flyering as primarily a brand building exercise. Most people won't be ready to buy but you want to be front of mind when they do decide to bring in a cleaning company.
Many people will stick the flyer on the fridge, and it's not unusual to get a call many months after your flyering campaign completes.
2) Add a discount code to track performance.
We add a discount code to every flyer we print.
This is primarily a way for us to track the number of leads (and clients) from each flyering campaign.
We need to track how many clients we're getting for the money we put into every campaign.
This should be the case for every marketing channel we're using.
3) Use 2 different versions of your flyer in each campaign.
The flyer "ad copy" is super important in terms of getting people to pick up the phone and to call you.
What title do you use? What design do you use?
That's why for every flyer drop, you should print at least 2 different versions.
If there's a clear winner, then try to create a new version of the flyer in your next campaign.
