The new 2022 Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series has landed in Australia, bringing a new platform, downsized 3.3-litre twin-turbo diesel V6 and big improvements to safety and technology.
And as we’ve already discovered, Toyota’s new flagship SUV delivers these wholesale upgrades while maintaining its legendary off-road capability.
But to more precisely gauge its prowess in the bush we’ve lined it up against the enduring Nissan Patrol Ti-L.
It might be armed with a 5.6-litre naturally-aspirated petrol V8, but the Y62 mirrors the 300 Series with a ladder-frame chassis, low-range transfer case and more interior space than the Titanic.
