Spending my first overnight woodland camp in my bushcraft shelter meant the world to me but unfortunately I knew it would have to also be my last.
The area is too widely known and it would have only been a matter of time before it was found and torn down like our other camp. I got my wish of spending the night in it so I was more than happy to leave it at that.
Heading out after work with my good buddy Leon I couldn't wait to show him what I'd created over the past two weeks and he was more than impressed which gave me a beaming smile on my face.
Lighting up both storm lanterns and getting the kit indoors was a priority as the night was creeping in fast. We are well into the middle of Oct now which doesn't give us much daylight hours but that didn't bother me as I wanted to spend as much time as possible in this awesome shelter.
After getting the fire lit using the old flint n steel technique we got on with making our evening meal which went down a treat! Speaking of treats, Halloween was around the corner so it was only right to calve a pumpkin to hang up around camp to give us that spooky feel.
Morning broke to a nightmarish story from Leon of a visitor in the night he had, something growled at him!!
After breakfast it was time to pack up and take this wonderful shelter down.
