The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is stepping up surveillance to stamp out food safety lapses. It will also roll out a new licensing framework to encourage food operators to maintain good hygiene. This comes in the wake of a string of mass food poisoning incidents in recent years. The SFA conducted more than 5,200 inspections in 2019, and over 1,600 enforcement actions were taken against errant operators.
