I should have researched before buying. I hate to knock this camera because it does have nice features and I like the design of it. How can I put this? It is a confused camera.
If you use the automatic features you will get a less than perfect result. But it is being sold as a touch screen easy to use camera.
You shouldn't have to understand ISO or the different types of light if it is being sold as easy to use point and shoot camera. Part of the problem is expectations.
The camera is really small and thin - that is a plus.
The sensor inside of the camera is also small - that is a minus. No matter what you do you are not going to get spectacular photos and video. Maybe good if you work it hard enough.
It records video in .avi so that is a plus for Mac Users
Two separate buttons for photo and video - I like that.
The touch screen interface - that depends on the size of your hands if it is a plus or a minus.
Yes, it can snap a 14 megapixel photo but you don't want it to do that, dial that rascal down to 5 megapixels if you want a usable photo.
I'm testing the video function. First I had to hunt for changing the video from SD to HD. I had to go back to the full manual on the CD. The video is acceptable but not great. This is strictly a just in case camera with video functions.
I can't recommend buying the camera. If you are willing to work with the constrictions it can be made to be okay. I have to tell you it is an adjustment.
