After your camera hits the DSLR recording limit for the first time, you’ll probably be wondering why are there recording limits on cameras and why do DSLR only record video for 29:59. I first found my Canon DSLR recording limit when I hit the 30 minute recording limit and started wondering if there was a way to remove 30 minutes DSLR video shutdown. I wondered why do cameras have 30 minute recording limits and found out that this half hour recording limit was due to taxes. DSLR recording time limits keep the camera from being taxed at a higher rate as a “video camera.” This DSLR video recording time limit can be frustrated, and you’ll probably want to find a way to remove DSLR recording time limits, but they keep the cameras costs lower. There are some cameras that are DSLR without recording limits such as the GH5, but most cameras like Canon and Sony recording limits apply.
