In this video, we are going to show you how to repair a Samsung 4k curved screen TV with no HDMI port functionality. This specific model one connect box is for a UN65HU9000 however is also applicable to the UN55HU9000 and the UN78HU9000 model TVs.
This is an issue we see often which is usually caused by power surges or lightning strikes that enter the system via the HDMI cable or can sometimes fail just from natural wear and tear on the board.
One way we are able to confirm the chip is defective is by finding several different capacitors in line with that chip to be shorted. After removal of the chip, we find out that the shorts are no longer present confirming the issue was indeed with the HDMI processor.
After a new chip is installed we are finally able to find full functionality from all 4 HDMI ports.
