Hey there trailer owners. Today, we're going to be taking a look at a great way to keep your trailer safe while it's unattended. We have the Blaylock 15 to 20-inch wheel lock for trailers. Have you ever, living your trailer unattended at say a job site or a storage facility, or even just in your driveway There's really not much to prevent someone from just rolling up hooking up and taking off with your trailer. That's why for peace of mind, you can add something like this trailer wheel lock. It's made of an aluminum construction.
So it's incredibly lightweight and because it's aluminum it won't rust. So leaving it outside is not really a concern. It comes with a heavy duty lock.It's a pick-proof design. It's going to make it much more difficult for someone to get this off. As you can see with it here, what it's really going to do is prevent this wheel from going anywhere.
If someone hooks off there, if someone hooks up, they're not going to be able to take off with your trailer. I'm going to take the lock off so we can take a closer look at the unit. And like I said, it is a pick-proof lock. It's got to be twisted here, to undo it, which makes it much more difficult for someone to get in there with tools.Once you get that out, I'll be able to take the unit off and you can see the clamp design. Its designed to clamp around your tire and wheel assembly.
And it's got, it's adjustable here. You can see we've got different adjustments. You'll choose whichever hole fits best for your tire to get the right size. So we've got the largest setting and all the way down to the smallest setting. There's two holes here on the back to get you to that smallest setting for a total of four adjustment points.
To install it on your tire, then of course have the lock removed and you'll open it up, the jaws here, then you pivot back and forth, go around your tire and we'll secure it in place. I like to find a secure place to clamp it and get it as snug as possible. So right here, it's perfect.And then we'll take our lock and I go from the bottom out just because it's a pain in the butt to mess with your key when it's facing the ground and we'll get it as tight as we can on there and then see what hole lines up best. For us, it's actually going to be that last one, the second one on top. And then our lock goes into place and we'll screw it down. Once we get it tight, just go back a half a turn and your key pulls right out. You're all set. Now you can feel comfortable leaving the trailer unattended for any length of time you need to. When you come back, it's going to be ready for you to use. I'm going to simulate for you a would be thief if they did decide to hook up, you can see what's going to happen. As I push on the back of our trailer, it's going to, I can't get this to roll because we've obviously got that obstruction there. They're just going to really walk away feeling foolish for even having tried.Now, there are other options out there to keep your trailer safe, like coupler locks, which will prevent anyone from lifting up on the latch to be able to hook up. I just prefer this better because coupler locks are a smaller connection and they're easier to get in there and cut if somebody really did want to get away with your trailer. You might consider both, if you really want to protect your trailer. We do have plenty of coupler locks available here at etrailer.com as well. Now we we're just on our enclosed trailer, but you're going to find this is very versatile. It will work with just about any trailer that you have, whether it's your camper, your boat, utility trailers, just about anything you've got. You can feel comfortable that it's going to be safe.
