While diving off the southern coast of Tenerife, I was immediately greeted by a fever of stingrays. The largest I’ve ever seen, these giant rays were twice as long as my diving instructor, and incredibly curious. They swam right up to us and reached out to be touched with their wing-like pectoral fins. They even followed us up to the boat as we ascended after our dive.
