The 5G Spectrum auction finally concluded after 7 days and over 38 rounds of bidding. Briefing the nation, Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that the government is all set to garner over 1.5 lakh crore rupees and will get over 13 thousand crore rupees upfront. Jio and Airtel emerged as the largest bidders. Reliance Jio, the top spender will shell out over Rs. 88 thousand crores for a total of 24,740 Mhz, while Airtel will spend around Rs 43 thousand crores for 19,867 Mhz. Meanwhile, new entrant Adani Data Networks will be spending Rs 212 crores on 400 Mhz in the millimeter wave.
