It's a frustrating problem farmers face when stacking bales — you need a few more inches of loader range to stack that bale but the loader is coming up just a little short.
That's a challenge Stoll is looking to solve, especially for farmers who work with 4-cylinder medium class tractors, a popular choice for front loader work. The German machinery manufacturer's answer to this conundrum is a telescopic front loader — what it calls the X-Tra Lift concept. It was awarded a silver medal at the 2023 Agritechnica Innovation Awards in Hanover, Germany.
In this report, Stoll's international sales manager Torben Meyer explains how its new loader, designed for 4-cylinder medium class tractors, can be equipped with a telescopic swing arm and an extendable joint. The combination of the extendable joint and the swing arm enables the loader's horizontal range to be increased by 1 metre and the lifting height by as much as 1.5 metres.
Meyer says the front loader should prove particularly interesting for handling round and square bales on farms that do not have sufficient work for a telehandler. He adds that the telescopic loader will be a good fit for livestock operations and should be targeted to tractors that range from 130- to 200 horsepower.
