The Newport 12V Smart Battery Charger is designed to be used with the battery placed on a workbench for use in its three different modes: Charging, Maintaining, and Repair.

Charging: This unit charges at about 4 amps per hour, it is designed with short battery cables to reduce amperage drops to ensure the most consistent product performance. Note: Using it with an extension cord will result in slower charging due to the added resistance of the longer wire.

Maintaining: This charger uses pulse technology to maintain lead-acid batteries when not in use.

Repair: It uses the latest 12v battery pulse charging technology to maximize the life of your battery.

This unit can repair lead-acid batteries that have vulcanized, "vulcanization" is a process where lead sulfate crystals have begun to form on the internal lead plates.
