NeighborGoods allows people to share items within a specific geographic regions or existing social groups. Part of the company's mission is keeping seldom-used tools and appliances out of landfills. Not coincidentally, founder and CEO Krimmel was the social media manager for An Inconvenient Truth. From an operations standpoint, the entire system is built to make people feel safe and secure. Focused more on the conversation (social) than the transaction, and 90% of interactions are free, or borrowed, rather than rented.
