Savasana or Corpse Pose is an asana often used for relaxation at the end of a session. It is the usual pose for the practice of yoga nidra meditation. The deeply relaxing aspect of Savasana is known to be therapeutic for stress.
Savasana can be seen as the single most important pose of your practice. It allows your body time to process the information and benefits received from the poses (“asanas”) and breathing exercises (“pranayama”).
Variations include arms out or arms up.
Stretches: softens and relieves tension
Strengthens: Your mind.
