This short film presents some of the key findings from a community-based research study on Innu minuinniuin, a word in Innu-aimun that can be translated as health and wellbeing, funded by a Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) Operating Grant (Grant #: FRN-145126). Dr. Samantha Wells from CAMH was the Principal Investigator.
The study was authorized by Innu Grand Chief Anastasia Qupee and received ethics approval from the Newfoundland and Labrador Research Ethics Board, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and the University of Ottawa.
Dr. Leonor Ward conducted this research study as part of her work for her Doctorate in Philosophy in Population Health, supervised by Dr. Samia Chreim. Drs. Samantha Wells and Anita Olsen Harper were thesis advisors to Dr. Leonor Ward.
