Muslim Magomayev and Rashid Behbudov have been successfully operating in the Caspian Sea since the delivery of the first unit in 2014. The first-of-type design has been engineered specifically to integrate with the Ampelmann Walk-to-Work system.
These Incat Crowther 70 Catamaran Fast Crew Boats (FCBs) are able to transit to offshore facilities at cruise speed of 30 knots. The vessel’s hull form is designed to operate comfortably in sea conditions of 40 knot wind and seas of 3m significant wave height, facilitating 97% uptime. This is achieved by Incat Crowther’s advanced semi-SWATH hull form, combined with a resiliently mounted main cabin and machinery system, extensive vibration isolation and active ride control system. The design provides exceptional levels of comfort for transiting crew, facilitating crew changes by water transport in lieu of helicopter transfers.
The vessels are fitted with a continuous access slideway, which saves significant time during personnel transfer. The slideway allows 150 passengers to move uninterrupted via the transfer deck, rather than in groups of 20 passengers via the aft deck gangway. Ampelmann offers a proven and safe gangway system with over 5 million walk-to-work transfers worldwide with over 200 units in operation. Passengers’ baggage, stowed in 10-foot containers, is transferred to the platform by crane.
All of the Ampelmann's support systems have been integrated into the hull, maximising clear deck space around the gangway. Integrating these systems in a holistic design solution improves safety, uptime and turnaround time.
